Meet Pia
I am a Holistic Solution Focused Coach and completing my training at the Hakomi Institute of Mallorca. I am a student member of the European Association for Body Psychotherapy.
My master degree is in psychology and PhD in cognitive neuroscience from University of Helsinki. I work as a brain scientist in a research laboratory in Paris. See my scientific work here
After 30 years of experience in academia exploring various questions in brain sciences, I wanted to open myself to a different way of understanding the mind. I am inspired by the Hakomi method for its foundations in theoretical insight and empirical research on the human mind. It combines this grounding with loving presence, compassionate acceptance, and shared presence.
Being an experimental scientist often means being curious. It means asking questions, wanting to find underlying mechanisms, and creating experiments to get answers. Hakomi is often described in similar terms, as creating experiments and noticing what happens inside a client's experience.
My work combines my knowledge of brain functioning & health, coaching, and the Hakomi approach. Outside of my work, I am drawn to reading, music, theatre, the arts, dancing, and time in nature.
